Dunja Miodrag is a junior at Jacksonville University, originally from Serbia, majoring in Oceanography and set to graduate in May 2026. As a first-generation and international student, she is passionate about applying her skills to environmental and marine science challenges. Dunja is the Vice President of both the International Student Association and the Society of Physics. She has also interned at a meteorological institute in Europe and participated in GPS drifter projects with NOAA.
As the Senator for Arts and Sciences in JU’s Student Government Association, Dunja is dedicated to advocating for enhanced resources and opportunities for students in her college, such as expanded research funding and increased access to interdisciplinary programs. Academically, she is focused on advancing her understanding of physical oceanography through hands-on research and coursework, aiming to contribute to innovative solutions for marine conservation. Dunja is actively seeking internship opportunities in survey, and marine research fields to further her experience.
