Fika Michel is a freshman at Jacksonville University, pursuing a double major in Biology and Psychology. With a strong foundation in leadership, service, and extracurricular involvement, she has cultivated a passion for creating positive change in her community.
In high school, Fika held leadership roles as Secretary of the Black Student Union and Bring Change to Mind, where she worked to promote cultural awareness and destigmatize mental health discussions. She also contributed as a member of Women of Tomorrow, National Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society, participating in impactful community service initiatives such as Relay for Life, beach cleanups, and school events. As a member of Link Crew, she mentored incoming freshmen, helping them adapt to their new environment.
Fika’s dedication extended to athletics as a Varsity Cheerleader and Co-Captain, where she developed teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. Additionally, her pharmacy internship provided valuable professional experience, reinforcing her passion for healthcare and science.
Recognized for her academic achievements, Fika maintained Honor Roll for three consecutive years and earned the National African American Recognition for Outstanding Academic Achievement. CPR-certified by the American Heart Association, she is equipped to make meaningful contributions both in and outside of the classroom.
At Jacksonville University, Fika is eager to continue her journey of academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership development as she works toward her aspirations in healthcare and psychology.
