Austin Parrish is a junior at Jacksonville University, pursuing a major in Aviation and Flight Operations. Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Austin is deeply committed to his academic and professional development while actively contributing to the university community.
As a member of the Honors College and Sigma Chi Fraternity, Austin has taken on significant leadership roles, including serving as Scholarship Chair for Sigma Chi. In this role, he mentors his fraternity brothers, helping them prepare for exams, assignments, and projects to foster academic success. He also serves as an Honors Peer Mentor, where he guides incoming freshmen through their transition to college life by offering advice, organizing social events, and ensuring they feel supported.
Austin’s passion for aviation is evident through his dedication to earning his private pilot license as part of his professional aspirations. He also brings a wealth of leadership and service experience from high school, where he held roles in the National Honor Society, SCA Executive Council, and varsity sports teams. His volunteer work, which includes coaching youth basketball and baseball and mentoring students, highlights his strong commitment to giving back to his community.
With over 200 hours of community service, a record of professional experience as a lifeguard, and his ongoing aviation training, Austin combines discipline, leadership, and a passion for excellence.
