Katie Echols is a freshman Nursing major at Jacksonville University, where she is building on a strong foundation of academic excellence, leadership, and professional experience. Having earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification before entering college, Katie is already preparing for a future in healthcare with a focus on compassionate service.
In high school, Katie served as Chaplain for Student Government, where she organized student engagement events like lock-ins and fundraisers, fostering a sense of community among her peers. As a National Honor Society member, she led volunteer initiatives, including blood and food drives, further demonstrating her commitment to service. Her hospital volunteer work allowed her to gain hands-on experience, brightening children’s days by creating activity carts and distributing materials to waiting families.
Currently, Katie works at The Fresh Market as a cashier, where she has developed excellent customer service and organizational skills. Her previous role at Fit N Go Smoothie Bar taught her time management and teamwork as she handled responsibilities such as preparing smoothies, managing the register, and closing the store.
Katie’s dedication to helping others, combined with her strong work ethic and leadership background, positions her for success both in the classroom and in her future career as a healthcare professional.
